Latest Update to Windows 10 Crashes when Kindle eReaders are Connected to USB
A fresh install of Windows 10 is set up to record at least 100 things about how you use the web and your PC in general. Much of this "telemetry" can be turned off, but not all. The average user won't understand or care and definitely won't be up for following the many steps required to shut most of the monitoring off. As soon as another update comes out, it all gets turned on again by default.

IMHO, this is the best solution to avoid Windows 10, and if you don't like the direction Apple is going, Macs. And, it's free.
