Range Safety
These sporting enthusiasts are showing great form by wearing the proper eye and ear protection. Running a belt fed weapon takes teamwork and that is shown here with the correct belt tension being maintained and the feed angle spot on.
This outdoor aficionado has forgotten a few things, like eye and ear protection. Unless she is expecting some really short range target acquisition, she should remove the lens covers from her scope.
Amish
In Lancaster County Pennsylvania, there are a group of Mennonites called the Black Bumper Mennonites (also known as the Weaverland Conference Mennonite Church and the Horning Church)
They drive big black american cars that have all the chrome covered in black paint because shiny chrome is too flashy for plain folk.
"Distinctive with the Weaverland Conference, all members drive black vehicles with black bumpers, grilles and hubcaps. To their neighbors they are known as “black bumper” Mennonites."
At a tractor pull in Kinzer, Pennsylvania , a group of them were sitting in the bleachers together. The men dress like the Blues Brothers.
The car in the photo is a good example of a Black Bumper ride - a black, 4-door Oldsmobile 98.

Latest Update to Windows 10 Crashes when Kindle eReaders are Connected to USB
A fresh install of Windows 10 is set up to record at least 100 things about how you use the web and your PC in general. Much of this "telemetry" can be turned off, but not all. The average user won't understand or care and definitely won't be up for following the many steps required to shut most of the monitoring off. As soon as another update comes out, it all gets turned on again by default.
Here's a good description of what Windows 10 monitors right out of the box and Microsoft's disagreeable tactics:
Good discussion about the article in the comments here.
IMHO, this is the best solution to avoid Windows 10, and if you don't like the direction Apple is going, Macs. And, it's free.

HP Competing with CSC for Most Incompetent IT Support Crown
NASA is unhappy with its HPE services contract.
NASA’s outsourced computer people are even worse than you might expect
NASA’s ‘act of desperation’ demonstrates continued cyber deficiencies
Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting), CSC, EDS, and now HP. Ripoff artists everyone. And, mostly incompetent.

Assorted Battle Damage
U. S. S. CHESTER (CA27)
TORPEDO DAMAGE
20 OCTOBER, 1942
The War Damage Report is a good read with more pictures of both ships. It says the crews of both ships prevented loss of propulsion and made enough temporary repairs to get to port, but it was a near thing. Interestingly, the report points out things like the scarcity of valves along critical piping, the lack of which prevented ruptured lines from being sealed off (getting burned by live steam is a very painful injury). Some improvements were made to the entire class of Cruisers after this report.
